- Description
The Taylorsville State Office Building was a complex phased construction project for the renovation of a large 4-story office building and an annex structure on the same campus site to accommodate relocation of State agencies. Scope of work was dispersed over many phases and completed over multiple years. Scope of work included new flooring, ceiling replacement, moderate wall relocations, painting, base, architectural millwork, minimal ADA upgrades, signage, upgraded fire sprinklers, mechanical system upgrades, electrical modifications and new LED lighting, roof replacement, glass replacement, exterior painting of the annex building, new front entry at the annex building, mechanical system upgrade from pneumatic to digital controls, and new security systems, card readers, etc. The most challenging aspects of the project were the numerous Owner-initiated scope changes, coordination with multiple state agencies at the same time with different timelines and needs, and maintenance of a schedule that had to be modified frequently throughout the project.
