Orem Family Fitness Center

The Orem Family Fitness Center project was an expansion (99,600-sf) and renovation (32,320-sf ) that completely transformed the City’s outdated Community Center. The revitalized Center is a state-of-the-art facility featuring innovative fitness design. A modern, open design concept allows for every fitness discipline, childcare, indoor playground, locker rooms and access to the pools to be visible and accessible from the main lobby. The expansion created space for an elevated running track, racquetball courts, workout equipment and studios, multipurpose rooms, family changing suites, locker rooms, child daycare and a one-of-a-kind indoor playground / kid fitness gym, teen lounge, and bouldering wall. The renovation scope included upgrades to the indoor swimming pool area, complete with spectator viewing areas, and included new equipment, HVAC system, and a new hot tub and steam room. A distinctive project feature is the timeline wall in the lobby area which was created by repurposing the wood gym floor from the old fitness center as a re-imagined, articulated wall element with a history of the city of Orem.
